STATEMENT
After spending several years working on conceptual art, conveying ideas on eating disorders and body image, Brandon decided he would return to his inspirational roots. The results of influences stemming from popular culture and surrealism are offbeat, often humorous or politically charged. His motivation for moving in a different direction is simple: he just wants to have fun.

BIO
Brandon McCullar, born in Alabama, spent his childhood years in San Francisco and Tampa. He studied sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and art history at the University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama. Since 2002, Brandon has been teaching art in public elementary schools that can not offer it as a standard curriculum, due to lack of state funding. When he isn’t teaching, he is usually working on his next piece, either at the drawing table or in the metal shop.
